Prefer a more flexible way to prepare for breastfeeding? The recorded course “The Breasfeeding Journey” might be just the right for you!

The online course allows you to learn comfortably from your own home, at your own pace, and revisit the materials whenever you need. It is designed to fit into your everyday life while still giving you evidence-based, practical, and supportive guidance for your feeding journey.

Module 1:
Human milk and its production

In this module, called “Understanding your body”, we take a deeper look at how human milk is produced by exploring breast anatomy, hormonal changes during pregnancy and postpartum, and the different lactation stages.

This knowledge helps answer many common questions families have in everyday life, including breast changes, feeding frequency and patterns, supplementation, nutrition during breastfeeding, compatible medications, and ways to support milk production.

Module 2:
“First steps toward breastfeeding”

In this module, also called “Self-Preparation”, we follow the breastfeeding journey step by step—from birth through the first weeks as breastfeeding is being established—while exploring potential barriers to lactation, key factors for success, and ways to reduce common challenges.

We focus on recognizing signs of effective milk transfer, achieving a deep and comfortable latch, using breast compressions during feeding, and understanding how to achieve effective milk production.

Module 3:
“Confidently navigating challenges”

This module, called “Self-Support,” is designed to prepare you for the most common challenges that may arise in the early breastfeeding period and that many families encounter in their feeding journey.

We explore issues such as latch difficulties, blocked ducts, mastitis, sore nipples, flat or inverted nipples, and breast engorgement. We also address baby-related factors such as prematurity, oral restrictions, and jaundice. The goal is to help you become your own strongest support through education, understanding, and practical solutions.

Module 4:
“Learning and reflection”

Module 4 serves as the conclusion of all previous modules and brings together everything you have learned throughout the course. Through constructive discussions, clarifications of your questions, educational video content, and real-life case examples from everyday family experiences, this module offers a comprehensive review of the entire breastfeeding journey.

Here, you will have the opportunity to reflect on and test your knowledge about breastfeeding, see how the gained understanding supports your own journey, and explore how it can also help you support others.

Very, very good course!

“… It exceeded my expectations! It contains a lot of useful theoretical information, as well as practical tips and experiences. The course breaks down myths and makes it clear that there is no ‘one rule for all’ — that every mother–baby pair is unique and requires individual assessment if there are challenges. After the course, I feel much more confident that everything will be okay! …”

Why do I need a breastfeeding course?

Breastfeeding is a connection between mother and baby — a way for the baby to receive nourishment, feel safe, and build attachment, while the mother continues to deepen her bond with her baby. However, breastfeeding can be truly challenging, especially in the beginning. Many families who have not yet experienced breastfeeding assume quite naively that it will happen automatically: the baby is placed at the breast and simply starts feeding. What is often not known beforehand is that breastfeeding is a skill that both mother and baby need to learn. This process requires education, patience, and support.

That is why it is so important to prepare for this journey, to be informed and educated, and to understand what to expect, as well as to gain the tools to help yourself when challenges arise. Only then, when we truly understand the process, can we fully embrace and enjoy it — both as parents and together with partners and close family members as the most important support system.

Who are these courses suitable for?

The courses are designed for pregnant women, families that are expecting and new parents, as well as anyone who wants to feel more informed, confident, and prepared for their breastfeeding journey.

What types of courses do you offer?

I offer three types of breastfeeding courses: live online courses, in-person courses in Stuttgart, and a comprehensive recorded online course. The live online and in-person courses are interactive and take place in real time, allowing you to ask questions and receive direct guidance. The recorded online course is a self-paced program that you can access anytime within a 90-day period.

How long do I have access to the recorded course?

You have access to the recorded online course for 90 days from the moment of purchase, allowing you to learn at your own pace and revisit the material as needed.

Where do the in-person courses take place?

All upcoming live courses are listed above on this page. The in-person courses take place in Stuttgart, at the location specified in each course description.

What will I learn in the breastfeeding course?

You will learn evidence-based information about breastfeeding, practical techniques, common challenges and solutions, and how to feel more confident and supported throughout your breastfeeding journey.

In which languages are the courses offered?

The courses are offered in German, English, and my native language, Macedonian.

For Macedonian-language courses and content, please visit this page: www.doenjesoljubov.com.

When is the best time to take the course?

My recommendation is to take the course during the second trimester of pregnancy. Try not to wait until the very end, as this is usually a time focused on final preparations and increased excitement. The course also prepares you in case of a premature birth.

Of course, there are no strict rules — it can be taken earlier in pregnancy as well, and some families even follow it shortly after birth. However, I would not recommend taking it after the baby is already here, so you can fully focus on your baby and enter those first moments with knowledge, confidence, and calmness.

How does payment work?

The recorded online course can be purchased directly through the shop, and you will receive immediate access after purchase.

For live courses, you can either pay online at the time of registration or choose to register and receive an invoice. If you choose payment by invoice, it must be paid no later than one day before the course starts.

As a Kleinunternehmerin according to §19 UStG, no VAT (Umsatzsteuer) is charged.

Can the course be covered by health insurance?

In Germany, breastfeeding courses are generally not covered by statutory health insurance. Most Krankenkassen do not reimburse group or online breastfeeding courses, as they are considered preventive educational services.

However, some health insurance providers may occasionally offer partial reimbursement or special benefits for pregnancy and family education programs. Since this varies between insurers, it is always recommended to check directly with your own Krankenkasse for possible options.
